Several politicians have always been put on watch over linkage with scandalous deals ranging from illegal farm ownerships among other luxurious properties. DP Ruto has always been the first national suspect whenever such an issue arises since many people believe he grabbed most of his lands. The fact that DP Ruto owns various parcels of land has prompted numerous ideas in people’s who really doubt legitimacy of his property. The powerful man who owns some of Kenya’s most exclusive estates asserts that all of his land is legitimately possessed.
The 2,536-acre Mata Farm in Taita-Taveta County in Lamu was addressed by DP Ruto, who claimed genuine ownership of the land explaining the criteria he used to acquire it. DP Ruto described how he came to own the land, claiming that he did so after supporting former Taveta Member of Parliament Basil in repaying an Agricultural Finance Corporation loan which was overdue. Many people, however, have been spreading misleading information about it saying that DP Ruto grabbed it.
DP Ruto was in the seaside region, where he got to speak to a number of individuals in an attempt to preserve his presidential campaign. DP Ruto tried painting himself as an innocent man who is not involved in all the circulating speculations about him which are definitely meant to ruin his image.
What has always left many people is whether to trust what goes around or ignore because DP agenda if he wins doesn’t relate with what is associated with him. Meanwhile, his opponents have continued exposing him for lands he owns across the country including Nairobi where the great Weston Hotel stands.
