Geoffrey Kiragu, the founder of Lesedi Developers, is once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Kiragu’s Thika-based real estate firm has been flagged by the courts for obtaining money under false pretenses, with accusations that he swindled millions from unsuspecting Kenyans by promising them non-existent plots of land.

This ruling comes as a major relief to dozens of buyers who have long accused the developer of running a fraudulent scheme, leaving them in limbo after completing payments.

For years, Kiragu’s allegedly lured buyers into investing in land projects under Lesedi Developers, only to drag them into a frustrating cycle of delays, denials, and unfulfilled promises.

Many customers reported that after paying their dues in full, they were given endless excuses, and their attempts to occupy the promised plots were met with disappointment.

Victims say they were taken on a wild goose chase for years before realizing they had fallen victim to a well-organized scam.

This week, the court ruled in favor of the complainants, ordering Kiragu’s company to seek alternative land to settle the buyers.

The magistrate directed that part of the settlement must be completed by next month.

The ruling sparked mixed emotions in the courtroom: some buyers shed tears of relief, while others sat in disbelief, still processing the outcome after years of battling for justice.

Many of the petitioners recalled how they had staged numerous protests against Lesedi Developers, demanding accountability and transparency.

Their hope now lies in the court’s directive that Kiragu must honor the verdict and provide the promised land to avoid further legal consequences.

With this judgment, the pressure mounts on Kiragu and Lesedi Developers to clean up their tarnished reputation.

Buyers, however, remain cautious, fearing another round of deceit if the company fails to meet the court’s deadline.

As the countdown begins, victims await justice, hoping their long, painful journey to reclaim their investments will soon come to an end.
