The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidate for Embakasi East, Babu Owino, has decried the alleged plot by Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) allied legislators to attack women in the constituency while disguising in ODM attires aimed at defacing the MP’s reputation among the voters.

Babu has hinted to report the alleged foul plot by two UDA allied legislators to the police and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) tomorrow, Thursday, 30th June 2022 for appropriate action to be taken against the hustler nation legislators.

“Credible information reaching us states that two UDA politicians working in cahoots with their Chief Priest are planning to hire goons and dress them in t-shirts with my party colors and name with a view to attacking women in Embakasi East. The idea behind this nefarious plot is to brand me as violent and to disenfranchise my political supporters.”

“I will be reporting this matter officially to the police and the EACC later tomorrow for the authorities to take appropriate action. Moreover, I am aware that following their stoning of themselves two weeks ago, they are doing everything possible to paint me as responsible despite all the evidence pointing back at themselves” said Babu Owino

While chest thumbing over his alleged popularity in the constituency, Babu Owino cited that he commands 78 percent of the electorate’s support ahead of the August contest.

“These two politicians with questionable academic credentials and who are known to be forgers of documents & looters of public funds have sensed defeat in the forthcoming General Elections and are now resorting to desperate measures to remain relevant.

My approval ratings in Embakasi East currently stand at 78%. My biggest competitor is Undecideds at 12%. This is a clear indicator of the good work we have done with and for the great people of the constituency. My opponents will be better advised to work harder to overturn these facts” he added.

This emerges barely two weeks after DP Ruto’s motorcade was severely stoned by Azimio – One Kenya rallied supporters at Jacaranda ground during Kenya Kwanza mega rally.
