With only 17 days remaining before the general elections that will be held on August 9th, 2022, the presidential campaigns are at the climax. Both the Azimio la Umoja -One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga and Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Samoei Ruto are in a rush to ensure that they mobilize as many voters as possible to vote for them.
The media, which always plays a vital role in giving the candidates a platform to air their manifestos to Kenyans, will be holding the presidential debate on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022. All the presidential candidates are required to avail themselves so that each one of them can be able to convince Kenyan citizens why they should be voted in.
Junet Mohammed, during the Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya alliance rally, disclosed that Raila Odinga may fail to attend the presidential debate that is set to take place at the Catholic University Of East Africa next week on Tuesday.
Junet added that Raila would be present under the conditions that the debate will cover three key areas. That is Integrity, Corruption, and Governance. Failure to this, the Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino will represent ‘Baba’ in the debate.
He said, “Raila will only go to the debate if the topics are integrity, corruption, and governance. We will send Babu Owino to debate Ruto.”
