A survey by Mwelekeo Insights has placed Angel Mbuthia of the Jubilee Party at the front of the race for Kiambu County Woman Representative.
The poll, shows her enjoying clear support among residents who took part. With the 2027 general election still some time way, these early results offer a useful look of how voters in the county currently feel about the main contenders.
Angel Mbuthia Takes Clear Lead
Angel Mbuthia of Jubilee finished first with 38.1 per cent. Behind her came Rosemary Kinuthia of the Democracy for the Citizen’s Party (DCP) with 21 per cent.
Mercy Nungari, also from DCP, took third place with 15.7 per cent.
Wanjiku Ngochi of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) secured fourth position with 11.9 per cent.
Phyllis Wangui of DCP came fifth with 9.7 per cent, while Ann Muratha of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) finished with 3.7 per cent.
The gap between Mbuthia and the rest of the field stands out. She holds more than 17 percentage points over her nearest rival.
At the same time, DCP showed strength by placing three candidates in the top five, though their combined support remains split across those three names.
A Crowded Field from DCP
The presence of Rosemary Kinuthia, Mercy Nungari and Phyllis Wangui all under the DCP banner points to lively competition inside that party.
Supporters of DCP appear divided for now, which has helped Mbuthia maintain her advantage.
PLP’s Wanjiku Ngochi managed to claim a solid share of the vote, showing that smaller parties still attract attention in Kiambu.
UDA’s Ann Muratha recorded the lowest figure among the named candidates, suggesting she has more ground to cover if she hopes to climb higher.
Kiambu has long been an important county in national politics. The Woman Representative seat carries weight because the holder speaks for women and families at the national level.
Candidates usually focus on issues such as better schools, maternal health care, small business support for women, and help for young families.
The current ranking suggests many participants are already weighing these matters as they look at the different names on the list.

In its recent Nairobi Woman Representative 2027 survey, Esther Passaris of ODM led with 24.9 per cent, followed by Chibeka Matara of KANU with 24.1 per cent, Faith Nguthu of UDA with 22.3 per cent, Crystal Asige of Linda Mwananchi with 14.1 per cent, Millicent Omanga of DCP with 8.7 per cent, Karen Nyamu of UDA with 5 per cent, and Tabitha Mutinda of Wiper with 1 per cent.
In the Trans Nzoia County 2027 Governor survey, Susan Nakhumicha of Ford-Kenya topped the ranking with 44.1 per cent, Dr. Chris Wamalwa of Ford-Kenya followed with 35.9 per cent, George Natembeya of DAP-K took 15.1 per cent, Maurice Kakai Bisau of UDA recorded 1.9 per cent, Andrew Wanyonyi stood at 1.7 per cent, and Philemon Samoei of UDA finished with 1.3 per cent.
These earlier polls, together with the latest Kiambu results, show the firm’s ongoing effort to map public preferences across different parts of the country.
