Dear Bwana DO,

Sunday greetings from Murang’a!

During your press conference on Friday the 10th of July 2026 you took a swipe at Murang’a Governor, Irungu Kang’ata apparently because you learnt that he planned to join the Linda Mwananchi brigade on a tour of Ol’ Kalou today, Sunday the 12th of July 2026. You categorically warned Governor Kang’ata to keep off Ol’ Kalou. That warning was as harsh as it was cold-blooded, particularly coming from a person who wishes to be regarded as a national leader.

We, the undersigned are alarmed by your outburst and the ultimatum you issued to Governor Kang’ata. Our concern is the bile in your verbal grenade. The wrath laced in your tone suggests that you could be suffering from what medics refer to as Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), This is “a mental health condition marked by frequent impulsive anger outbursts or aggression.” Regarding your magma-laden spurt directed at our Governor, we have since asked ourselves a few questions:

1) What precisely did you take issue with Governor Kang’ata’s participation in the proposed Linda Mwananchi tour of Ol’ Kalou?

2) Are you afraid that Governor Kang’ata might snooker you in your quest to become Mount Kenya kingpin sometime soon?

3) Why did you pick on Governor Kang’ata alone yet a whole entourage of Linda Mwananchi
leaders from various parts of Kenya had also expressed interest in the tour?

4) By the way, what moral authority do you have to even dream, let alone to go on and bar, Governor Kang’ata from touring Ol’ Kalou? And as who did you issue the warning to Governor Kang’ata anyway? You are not a resident of Ol’ Kalou yourself! So keep off Ol’ Kalou too as well as Murang’a!

Bwana DO, from the look of things, by the time the Ol’ Kalou by-election is behind us, many political formations from Mount Kenya region need to carefully rethink how to associate with you in person and the political party you are associated with. The following are our reasons;

1) It is becoming increasingly crystal clear that in all political engagements with significant
others, it is either your way or the highway! How is it that you are the only one with the last word? Do your other colleagues in the opposition have tomato purée for grey matter?

2) We have noticed with grave concern the gross exaggeration of the recent DCP sponsored political popularity polls for the front-runners of the forthcoming Ol’ Kalou by-election. We are particularly concerned about this monkey business because we are convinced that such out-dated buffoonery awaits our political arena come the 2027 electioneering season. In any case, who trusts poll results from namby-pamby pollsters with dubious credentials!

3) We have watched with utter repugnance DCP’s lead person’s conduct on the campaign trail ahead of the upcoming Ol’ Kalou by-election. He is apparently the Secretary-General of DCP. His endless monkeyshines and waggish antics are such a put-off for some of us who hope to see the return of the presidency to our region. Have you sanctioned his tomfoolery?

For now Bwana DO, just know that by going for the jugular of Governor Kang’ata you have touched a high-voltage live wire for which you will surely regret sooner rather than later.
