Fresh details now point at brewing trouble in Kenya Kwanza, which has been largely peaceful since securing the government in the concluded poll.

It’s emerging that despite the peace and calm on the outside, there are issues on the inside, with the Mt Kenya part of it already feeling short-changed.

Insiders claim that Mt Kenya politicians feel that President William Ruto has began leaving them out, the best incident being in the EALA lineup.

They registered their anger yesterday, during the voting, by helping Godfrey Maina and Kanini Kega sail through, against some of Ruto’s preffered candidates.

Sources said that the leaders are already feeling betrayed, and are of the opinion that they are being taken for granted despite helping Ruto win.

“We will do anything to have one of us at Eala despite which political formation they are in,” one of them told The Standard before the voting.

This is not the first time such are emanating from Kenya Kwanza, with recent reports suggesting that leaders from Western are also unhappy with Ruto.

The Daily Nation earlier reported that some top officials of the ANC and Ford Kenya parties are already feeling short-changed by Ruto’s UDA party.

The paper had established that the parties are unhappy that Ruto has overlooked their members in dishing out powerful committee leadership positions, and has only considered his UDA members.

Ford Kenya Chair Catherine Wambilianga confirmed the dissatisfaction, with UDA Chair Johnson Muthama coming out to demand that those aggrieved use the right internal channels.

“We cannot listen to individuals who are out there shouting because they are pushing their self-interests,” he told the paper.
