Githongo Exposes 5 People Who Allegedly Hacked IEBC System To Rig Ruto In

Inuka Kenya ni Sisi Organisation Chief Executive Officer John Githongo has joined the list of notable Kenyans doubting Deputy President William Ruto’s win in the concluded presidential election.

Ruto was last Monday last week named the President-elect, an announcement that was made by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati in Bomas, Nairobi.

A number of petitioners have come forward to dismiss these results, with most suggesting that they believe or have evidence that Ruto, in collaboration with Chebukati, had himself rigged in.

Githongo says that this is indeed the case, and Ruto hired a team of experts to help him rig the elections, the result being him defeating his main opponent, Azimio La Umoja candidate Raila Odinga.

He alleges that the election was indeed manipulated, claiming that Ruto deployed 56 IT specialists to exaggerate Ruto’s numbers, while suppressing and substituting Raila’s votes.

Githongo claims to have got this information from one of the people who had been given the job, who worked as a supervisor.

“He revealed to me utterly shocking details of how he together with others, were involved in a large scale, well orchestrated fraudulent scheme that enabled them to interfere with and compromise with the IEBC electoral data transmission system,” he says in his petition filed before the Supreme Court.

The source, he says, told him that other supervisors included Dennis Itumbi, Davis Chirchir, Jackson Kandi, Morris Mutegi and Baby Serge, who were coordinating the alleged rigging exercise.

He claims that this was being done with the knowledge of IEBC, the result being the team having access to the IEBC system, from where it got hold of results and edited them before releasing them.

This is close to what Raila, in his petition says, that Chebukati allowed Ruto’s hackers into the IEBC system, and Ruto’s team proceeded to edit results before uploading them onto the IEBC portal.
