Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, the head of the Wiper Democratic Movement Party, is allegedly on his way back to the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition and is expected to announce his decision to withdraw from the presidential race later today. After Raila Odinga denied him the running position and instead granted it to Narc Kenya Party leader Hon Martha Karua, Kalonzo bowed out of the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance alliance.

Kalonzo is alleged to have negotiated a fresh agreement with Raila about what he stands to earn if the former Prime Minister wins the presidency and Azimio becomes the next government after the general elections on August 9th.

Kalonzo has achieved a deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, according to a report by NTV, that he will be awarded five Cabinet Secretaries seats. He will be given the portfolios of Energy, Tourism, Water, Health, and Foreign Affairs, which he will hold alongside the chief minister.

According to new information, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has agreed to rejoin the Azimio One Kenya coalition just weeks after announcing his departure. After missing out on the Azimio running mate spot, Kalonzo decided to run for president on the same day Raila announced Karua as his running companion.

To a large extent, the experienced politician has been under strong pressure to rejoin the coalition, with the majority of his own party candidates asking him to do so.

After considering his alternatives, Kalonzo has decided to rejoin Azimio after President Uhuru led the negotiations to meet Kalonzo’s requests. All four cabinet positions have been granted to Kalonzo, including Energy, Tourism, Water, and Health.
