Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe has received a major boost in his campaign after Nairobi former Governor aide Boy Sammy Boy threw his weight behind him. Sammy Boy has a rich history of campaign successes in the county’s politics and brings with him experience, brains, and tact that will be useful. The political tactician has already hit the ground running.
Meeting over 200 women brought across Nairobi county in Mukuru Kayaba, Sammy Boy requested the mashinani leaders to allow him to work with Igathe now that Sonko has shifted his base to Mombasa.
I have known Igathe for more than five years and I can confidently confirm to you that he is God-fearing, a performer, and isn’t tribal at all.
Sammy Boy quipped.
The women leaders were drawn two from each of the 85 wards and two more from the seventeen sub-county level.
Polycarp Igathe who is running on Azimio ticket, is set to face off with Johnson Sakaja who is the flag bearer of the Kenya Kwanza alliance in the city race. Sammy Boy who has always been the brains behind Sonko’s success in city politics brings a wide range of experience and expertise having served as Sonko CDF manager when he was the makadara Mp, his Chief of Staff while at the senate, and Private Secretary in City Hall.
Recent opinion polls have shown Sakaja leading with a small margin with less than two months to the general elections and Igathe’s continued wooing as well as winning strategists such as Sammy Boy is likely to change the tide in his favor as the Augus elections draw near.
