Kenyans reject police cover-up and point fingers directly at PS Fikirini Jacobs

The death of youth leader Cecil Ouma at the hands of a bodyguard attached to Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs has sparked outrage, with many questioning how a government event could end in such tragedy.

The incident has placed the PS at the center of a storm, with public sentiment turning against him as details of the shooting emerge.

For many Kenyans, Fikirini Jacobs is now the face of a system that seems to value its own protection over the lives of the young people it claims to serve.

The sequence of events is deeply troubling. Cecil Ouma had been invited to mobilize youths for a government forum at Kariokor Social Hall.

After the event, he was given a mere 10,000 shillings to distribute among the attendees a sum so small that the youths rejected it and asked him to return it to the PS.

When Ouma went back to the PS’s vehicle to address the issue, he was fatally shot.

His body was later found dumped on the roadside along Park Road, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds . This is not the story of a violent criminal, but of a community organizer who was killed over a simple disagreement about transport money.

The situation is made worse by the fact that this tragedy involves a public servant whose job is to uplift the youth. Instead of protecting the interests of young Kenyans, PS Fikirini is now at the center of a murder investigation.

His security detail fired the shots, and initial police reports attempting to paint the youths as violent rioters do not match the accounts of witnesses or the victim’s family.

It appears that PS Fikirini, a public servant playing politics, allowed his office to become a scene of bloodshed rather than a source of empowerment .

The public is left to wonder how a government official can be so disconnected from the reality of the people he is supposed to serve.

The demand for justice is clear and unwavering. The public is calling for a thorough investigation and for PS Fikirini to be held accountable for the actions of his security detail.

He has recorded a statement with the police, but Kenyans are watching to see if this will lead to real consequences or if he will be shielded by his political connections.

The murder of Cecil Ouma is a stark reminder of a nation where life has become cheap and public trust has been broken. It is up to the authorities to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible for this brutal act are brought to book.
