A 31-year-old Kenyan woman is in distress after her Nigerian boyfriend vanished, leaving her pregnant and financially strained.
The two met at a nightclub along Kiambu Road, and he moved into her house in Roysambu. Two weeks later, she discovered she was pregnant, and the man promised to marry her and visit her parents for an introduction.
One day, he borrowed KSh 174,000, claiming he needed it to bail out his brother who was allegedly in police custody.
After receiving the money, he disappeared and stopped responding to her calls.
Three days ago, he blocked her entirely. Now, the woman is overwhelmed with stress and considering posting his photos online to track him down.
Relationship expert Allan Lawrence, a counseling psychologist and author, advised the woman to prioritize her mental and emotional well-being.
He encouraged her to take time for introspection before making decisions she might regret. Allan suggested seeking support from a therapist or trusted individuals to help her cope during this difficult time.
The coach also emphasized the importance of preparing for motherhood, advising her to focus on her future and her child’s well-being.
Regarding the financial loss, Allan recommended seeking legal counsel to explore options for recovering the money and addressing the situation.
He concluded by urging her to accept the reality of the man’s disappearance and focus on building a stable and happy life for herself and her unborn child. Whether or not the man returns, she has the strength to move forward and create a bright future.
For anyone facing similar issues, Allan stressed the importance of seeking professional advice to handle financial and emotional challenges effectively.
All the same, it remains to be seen how the victim will be able to handle herself during this difficult time. Kenyans have in the past been urged to be careful on who they meet, where and why.
