Eric Omondi Blamed for ‘Quick Fix’ That Compromised Henry’s Long-Term Dental Health

Activist and comedian Eric Omondi is facing criticism after allegations emerged that he failed to ensure proper dental care for Henry, the young man who gained fame during the Occupy JKIA protests earlier this year.

The controversy was sparked by Dr. Branice Munyasa, a dentist who claimed that Henry’s treatment was mishandled, resulting in him receiving a basic acrylic denture instead of comprehensive dental care.

Dr. Munyasa accused Omondi of neglecting Henry’s appointments despite her clinic offering free, high-quality treatment.

In a X post, she explained that her team had started a slow and sustainable plan, including root canals and crowns, which mirrored the care provided to paying patients.

However, she stated that Henry missed three consecutive appointments, and the treatment plan was abandoned.

“I even took my time to explain to Eric what we were doing and the plan ahead. I wasn’t going to compromise Henry’s treatment for a quick fix for optics,” Dr. Munyasa wrote, suggesting that Omondi opted for a short-term solution instead of prioritizing Henry’s long-term well-being.

Henry, who became a public figure after his role in the Occupy JKIA demonstrations—where Kenyans opposed leasing the airport to the Adani Group—has been at the center of national attention.

Dr. Munyasa revealed her frustration, noting that the teeth she had worked to save were ultimately extracted and replaced with a denture.

The allegations have sparked public debate, with some accusing Omondi of focusing on optics rather than following through on commitments to those he champions.

Others have called for the activist to clarify the circumstances surrounding Henry’s missed appointments and the final decision on his dental care.
