A fresh twist has emerged in the ongoing case of the brutal attack on businesswoman Florence Wanjiku Gichohi, with chilling CCTV footage revealing new details of the incident that left her hospitalized.
The footage, captured at a local entertainment spot, shows Florence behind the wheel of her Toyota Succeed, deliberately ramming into Pastor Elias Mutugi Njeru’s Land Cruiser several times.
The attack, which occurred on the evening of November 24, followed a heated exchange between Florence and Njeru, her estranged husband.
The confrontation escalated when Florence reversed her car into Njeru’s SUV twice before he managed to approach, shut off her engine, and take the keys.
The footage has cast doubt on earlier reports suggesting the altercation occurred inside the house.
Instead, it confirms the violent encounter took place in the parking lot, shortly after Florence returned to her home in Rongai, Nakuru.
Following the incident, Florence alleges that Njeru stabbed her 18 times during a subsequent argument about personal and business matters. She remains hospitalized at Optimum Hospital, recovering from her injuries.
On November 25, Njeru, a pastor at Jesus Compassion Ministry Church, surrendered to the police after being on the run. He was accompanied by his lawyer and is now in custody at Menengai Police Station as investigations continue.
This case has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice in the wake of rising femicide cases in Kenya.
Prominent public figures have shown their support for Florence, demanding accountability for perpetrators of gender-based violence. As investigations unfold, the community remains vigilant, hoping for a fair resolution.
