Rnowned Rift Valley-based comedian and activist, Propesa, has once again held bull by its horns when he came out guns blazing to blast the govt a development that comes days after being allegedly kidnapped by government agents.

Using his influential X (formerly Twitter) handle, Propesa launched a scathing attack, tagging the Principal Secretary for Higher Education, Betty Muganda. He demanded to know what students without national ID cards should do when applying for Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loans.

The tweet, which quickly went viral, highlighted a screenshot showing a failed attempt to register for a HELB loan due to the absence of a national ID number.

Propesa’s post, captioned, “Wewe PS higher education @Bettymuganda17 tukifika hapa bila ID ulisema tufanye aje? #BitokMustGo,” has drawn widespread attention and ignited discussions on Twitter as Kenyans narrates how they have been struggling to apply for crucial govt services.

Just days prior, Propesa was reportedly kidnapped by men believed to be police officers and was later released without charges. This incident is widely seen as a response to his ongoing campaign urging the Ministry of Interior to expedite the issuance of ID cards, passports, and other crucial documents. Propesa’s relentless advocacy appears to have ruffled feathers within certain circles of the government.

The comedian-turned-activist has been vocal about the bureaucratic hurdles faced by many Kenyans, particularly the youth, in accessing essential services. His recent abduction has only amplified his resolve to push for reforms and ensure that the government addresses these pressing issues.

Propesa’s activism continues to resonate with many Kenyans who face similar challenges. As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to these mounting pressures.
