Wiper Party leader, Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, on Wednesday dared Deputy President (DP) Gachagua to a political duel when he stated that the much-anticipated arrest of Githunguri Member of Parliament, Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba, will spark the mother of all demos later this week.

According to a report verified by Mambo Mseto, the former vice president dared DP, Gachagua, and his security men to carry out their threat of arresting the lawmaker, saying that every Kenyan knows that Gathoni Wamuchomba, unlike her colleagues in the region, has been firing shots from her hip, speaking truth to power, and walking the talk in regards to matters affecting the common mwananchi in the region.

That notwithstanding, there are unconfirmed reports that the Githunguri lawmaker could be arrested anytime, with those in the know indicating that she is facing allegations of inciting farmers against the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), who are on the ground training and campaigning for the ETIMS adoption.

He warned United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders from Mt. Kenya who were accusing Wamuchomba of being a rebel.

The former vice president advised Wamuchomba to stay put in UDA and lead the opposition internally within the ruling party.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time Githunguri Member of Parliament, Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba, is making news headlines for being at loggerheads with the KK administration. The lawmaker in 2023 made a political record after becoming the first UDA MP to come out to call Pres. William Ruto for failing Kenyans on the skyrocketing cost of living.

Last month, Hon. Wamuchomba sent ripples in the political arena when she teamed up with a group of Opposition MPs to form a new political movement dubbed “ground team,” which will be advocating for the issues of the common mwananchi in Mt. Kenya and the nation at large.”
