Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has expressed concern following the release of the National Dialogue Committee (Nadco) report, voicing worries over the potential integration of officials from the Azimio la Umoja Coalition (Azimio) into key government positions should the report’s recommendations be adopted.
According to the reports verified by Mambo Mseto on June 1, Wamuchomba voiced her apprehension regarding a purported plan to reshuffle the Cabinet to accommodate opposition figures within the government, a move she believes would disadvantage individuals from the Mount Kenya region.

“If MPs approve the Nadco Report in Parliament, the immediate consequence will be a Cabinet reshuffle to accommodate Raila’s associates,” she asserted.
Moreover, Wamuchomba criticized handling issues concerning their region within the Nadco committee, alleging that their concerns were disregarded and sidelined in favor of managing Raila Odinga’s interests.
She cautioned that such a development could upset the political equilibrium, potentially granting undue influence to Azimio within the government.
Wamuchomba emphasized the repercussions of these actions, citing recent dismissals and speculating about a prospective national unity government between Deputy Prime Minister William Ruto and Raila Odinga following the Nadco report’s passage.

She argued that such alliances could derail the current administration’s agenda and distort the democratic process. The Nadco report, designed to promote national cohesion and political stability, recommends various reforms and inclusivity measures.
Wamuchomba’s statements have ignited a debate on the ramifications of the Nadco report, underscoring the apprehensions surrounding its implementation and the potential ramifications on government dynamics.
In response, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Janda refuted Wamuchomba’s claims, asserting that the partnership between Raila and the government aimed to support his bid for the African Union Commission chairmanship, dismissing allegations of broader political realignments.
