Suspicion has rocked Raila and Uhuru’s led Azimio – One Kenya coalition over alleged secret plans of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to sabotage Azimio rallies and campaigns in the Ukambani region.
Speaking on Saturday during the crowning ceremony for Kamba Elder and spokesman for 22 Kamba clans, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana faulted Kalonzo for allegedly hatching backdoor deals to spearhead the agenda of Wiper party only and abandoning Raila’s presidency, especially in Ukambani region.
He argued that Kalonzo has been promoting a single party (Wiper) in the region, a move that threatens to weaken Azimio – One Kenya fabric.
He stated that Kalonzo’s decision to master in weakening Azimio constituent parties solidifies the grip and support of the rivals in the region.
“Wiper should understand that Azimio brings together 26 parties. Promoting only one party is unrealistic. It is akin to a family member claiming that he is the only one who should be served food. That is impossible. Wiper is weakening Azimio by promoting only its candidates. Weakening Azimio is campaigning for its rival coalition,” Governor Kivutha Kibwana said.
Kibwana’s allegations come barely a week after Kalonzo dropped his presidential bid to rejoin Azimio – One Kenya coalition and averred to support Odinga’s ambition of succeeding Uhuru in the August battle.
Kalonzo had protested over Raila’s decision to pick Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua for the running mate position and walked out of the coalition to vie for the presidency.
However, Raila appointed Kalonzo as Chief Cabinet Minister during the unveiling of his (Raila) principal assistant.
He launched Azimio – One Kenya manifesto yesternight at Kasarani where he intends to reinstall the glory of textile mills by locking “Mitumba” from the markets.
Raila unveiled Azimio – One Kenya 13 point agenda that seeks to reboot the country’s economy through value addition, agroforestry, manufacturing and Industry creation this will hopefully create thousands of jobs for unemployed youths.
