Businessman Seth Okute has come out to laud the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) and its party leader Raila Odinga for taking heed of the nation’s call to help stabilize the government after deadly protests.

Speaking at Kendu Bay town in Karachuonyo constituency on Thursday evening in a meeting with grassroots leaders, Okute noted the important role that the opposition party played in ensuring that the country regained its stability and wananchi got back to their daily activities to eke a living and improve their financial situations.

“Baba (Raila Odinga) heeded to the high calling and made a step to ensure that our country got back on its feet so that our people can resume their daily routines and so that we can roll our beneficial empowerment projects that uplift their lives” Okute remarked.

The comment was in reference to the decision by the ODM Party Leader to allow his trusted lieutenants to take up roles in President Ruto’s government as a way to cool the political temperatures in the country.

“I am proud of the sacrifices made by my party so far in defending Kenya’s democracy and ensuring that we have a place to call home. Without a united Kenya, where will we implement all the empowerment ideas we have?” Okute posed.

The businessman and politician flagged off several empowerment projects for the local community much to the appreciation of the constituents who urged him to seek election as the Member of Parliament for Karachuonyo constituency.

“Okute is the leader we look up to. His projects have benefitted many people and with him as our leader (MP) we are sure to benefit even more as a people” Chris Olweny, a resident told our reporter.

The Karachuonyo MP seat is a battle-for-all following the imminent retirement of 82-year old MP Adipo Okuome who is serving his final stint.
