According to a recent online poll by Mwelekeo Insights, Seth Okute from the ODM party leads the race for the Karachuonyo parliamentary seat in 2027. The survey collected views from interested participants in Nyanza and beyond. Okute secured 49.5 percent support, giving him a clear lead at the top of the rankings.

Details of the Poll Results

Felix Obuya, running as an independent candidate, came in second with 19.5 percent support. Sam Ogutu from ODM followed with 9.8 percent. Other ODM candidates included Fred Makajos with 5.6 percent and Hannington Day with 4.5 percent. Ramadhan Odhiambo from UDA received 3.8 percent.

The remaining candidates, including Adipo Okuome, Jeff Ongoro, Collins Okendi, Kennedy Obuya, and Carilus Ademba, recorded smaller shares of support.

What the Numbers Show

The results point to current preferences among those who took part in the online poll. Seth Okute’s lead suggests noticeable support at this early stage.

The presence of an independent candidate in second place shows that some voters look beyond party lines. Most of the leading positions were occupied by ODM hopefuls, while UDA candidates ranked lower.

These findings reflect opinions captured at one point in time and may change as political activities continue and more voters engage in public discussions.

Online polls mainly reach people who have internet access and actively follow political developments. They do not always represent the views of the entire voting population in Karachuonyo. Local issues such as roads, water, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities often influence voter decisions. Candidates seeking support will need to address these concerns as the next election draws closer.

As preparations for the 2027 General Election continue, more surveys and public engagements are expected. Political parties and independent candidates are likely to increase their efforts to connect with voters and communicate their plans.

While the current poll provides an indication of public opinion among participants, election outcomes are influenced by many factors, including campaigns, voter turnout, and community priorities.

Residents of Karachuonyo, like voters in other parts of the country, are expected to evaluate candidates based on their leadership qualities, track records, and ability to respond to local needs.

The political landscape may continue to evolve over the coming months.
