President William Ruto has requested prayers from the church as he prepares to appoint a new cabinet. Speaking at a church service in Nyandarua County, he emphasized the need for divine guidance to choose a team capable of fulfilling his administration’s promises and advancing national transformation.
Ruto highlighted his goal of forming an inclusive government, integrating various political factions to unite the country. He assured his steady leadership despite recent political challenges, including protests against the Finance Bill and a complete cabinet overhaul. Ruto reiterated his commitment to reducing Kenya’s dependence on external debt through economic reforms.
The president also addressed youth unemployment, proposing local production to reduce import reliance and create jobs. On infrastructure, he acknowledged delays due to anti-finance protests but vowed to revisit his plans.
Ruto announced a personal donation for the completion of the Ndogino AIPCA Church and reiterated his administration’s crackdown on drug abuse and illicit brews, especially at the Kenyan coast. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua supported Ruto’s cabinet decisions and urged regional leaders to combat illicit brews.
Ruto sought the approval of the congregants on his intended formation of another government, which he has hinted at, including other political factions and stakeholders.
“Nyandarua people, are we together as I walk this path of forming a broad base government that will unite the entire country?” the President posed as the congregation affirmed their support.
Following his recent decision to send the entire cabinet home and refer the Finance Bill back to Parliament due to protests, the President said he was firmly on the wheel.
“I am very steady. And I shall lead Kenya towards the transformation we desire. Things are not always easy in the labour ward, but when a child is born, they bring a lot of joy,” said Ruto.
