Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has made a passionate plea for the reappointment of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure to President William Ruto’s new cabinet.

Speaking at PCEA Rubate Church in Chuka on Sunday, Njuki lauded Kindiki’s exemplary performance during his previous tenure, which lasted 21 months. He emphasized that local leaders and residents unanimously support Kindiki’s return to the Ministry of Interior.

“Kindiki has demonstrated unparalleled commitment and efficiency in his duties, and his reappointment would greatly benefit our county and the nation,” Njuki stated. He underscored Kindiki’s contributions to enhancing security and governance, which have had lasting positive impacts.

The governor also addressed recent political tensions, criticizing ODM leader Raila Odinga’s calls for Kindiki’s prosecution over alleged misconduct during anti-government protests. Njuki defended Kindiki, asserting that he has never been found guilty of any offense and that the accusations are politically motivated.

This appeal comes in the context of President Ruto’s recent decision to dissolve his cabinet, with the exception of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, in a move aimed at forming a broad-based government. Njuki urged the President to consider Tharaka Nithi in the new cabinet lineup, advocating for regional representation and the inclusion of competent leaders like Kindiki.

Njuki further expressed his unwavering support for President Ruto’s economic reforms and governance strategies. He highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration between national and county governments to achieve sustainable development and address pressing issues facing the country.

The governor’s call for Kindiki’s reappointment has garnered significant attention and sparked discussions among political analysts and the public. As President Ruto prepares to unveil his new cabinet, all eyes will be on whether Kindiki will make a comeback, reflecting the administration’s commitment to meritocracy and regional inclusivity.
