Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidate for Vihiga Women Rep seat Winnie Majani has raised concerns about an alleged rigging plot by the incumbent Beatrice Adagala in the just concluded general election.
Taking to her social media site, Majani conceded defeat by lamenting that her opponent in the race, for Women Rep defended the seat through forgery, voter bribery and blatant rigging of election. She decried that her agents in various polling stations were sent away and manipulating of forms 34As to read zero votes to her disadvantage.
Majani stated that the incumbent Women Rep wielded 50,000 votes while commanded 35,000 support from the county.
“It has been an exciting journey. Vast lessons. Beautiful memories. Tears alongside. We fought on. Vihiga Woman Representative seat has been retained by the incumbent through forgery, voter bribery and blatant rigging. Power of incumbency. She garnered 50K votes while we garnered 33K votes. There were cases where our agents were sent away. Cases where Forms at the tallying centres showed zero in polling stations in Vihiga and Sabatia yet we had numbers. We have evidence” she claimed.
She thanked God for taking her far in the political journey and appreciated her family members for providing immense pillar of support to her political terrain.
“I want to thank The Almighty for bringing us this far. You remain my PILLAR. I want to thank my loving family that gave me the immense muscle to walk. To talk. To move. To become. You are beautiful” she added.
“I want to thank my Campaign Secretariat for the mighty work, loyalty and enthusiasm. We shall fight on. I want to thank the volunteers who saw it best to invest in a worthy cause. You are beautiful. We shall fight on. I want to thank the comrades that stood with me matters finances and logistics. You are beautiful. We shall fight on. I want to thank my party ODM for standing with me through various channels. We shall fight on. I want to thank the prayer warriors who spoke in rhymes to Yahwe. All for the good of all of us. We shall fight on” Majani stated.
She expressed confidence in securing the seat in the next general election, August, 2027.
“We look back and salute ourselves for at least daring greatly even though bees with bad omen colluded to stop our intentions. We shall fight on. I want to urge my supporters to keep up with the zeal and focus because one day, one day, one day, we shall rise together” said Majani.
