Kenyan lawyer Dr. Miguna Miguna has this afternoon challenged the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detectives to go after Nairobi Governor Hon Johnson Sakaja, at a time when unconfirmed reports indicate that Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi has been arrested by the EACC sleuths.
Taking to his X handle, the self-proclaimed General commended the EACC for the good work it’s doing but challenged it to ensure that the war on graft will cut across the political divide.
“The EACC Kenya has started making good moves. However, Kenyans want to see Johnson Sakaja in handcuffs soon. Time is running out. If he is not arrested soon, we will mobilize Nairobians for a citizens arrest,” Miguna wrote on X.
The development comes hours after a section of the media and leaders alleged that Detectives are hot on trial for Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi and his Principal Secretary Paul Ronoh who’re being sought for arrest and prosecution for alleged involvement in the fake fertilizer scam.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) on Thursday approved the charges against the two following investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
All the same, reports verified by Mambo Mseto have revealed that Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi presented himself at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road over the fake fertilizer worth Ksh209.5 million.
Reports indicated that the CS arrived at DCI at 7:00 am for questioning and sought to record a statement concerning how the fake fertilizer got circulated in the market.
At the time of publishing this article, the CS took over seven hours at the Directorate before heading to State House for the National Address by President William Ruto.
CS Linturi presented himself to the DCI, and we understand that if the detectives found a reason to detain the Ameru elder, they would have held him for the weekend.
