A sitting Member of County Assembly (MCA) and two other suspects have been charged with robbery with violence following an incident that allegedly took place in Donholm, Nairobi, on June 26, 2026.
The three accused persons appeared before the Makadara Law Courts, where they were formally charged and asked to respond to the allegations brought against them.
The case has attracted public attention because one of the suspects is an elected public official currently serving in Nairobi County.
According to investigators, the accused are Hon. Aaron Kang’ara Wangari, the MCA for Viwandani Ward in Makadara Constituency, Kefa Munyoro, and Zablon Kirima Mwangi. Authorities say investigations linked the three to a violent robbery that targeted three individuals in the Donholm area.
Court documents indicate that the suspects allegedly attacked the victims and robbed them of cash and other valuables before leaving the scene.
Investigators conducted inquiries into the incident, leading to the arrest of the three men and their subsequent arraignment in court.
When the matter came up before the Makadara Law Courts, all three suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court heard that the prosecution intends to proceed with the case as investigations and legal processes continue.
Following their plea, the court granted each of the accused bond terms. They were released on a bond of Sh1 million each, with an alternative cash bail of Sh500,000.
The bond and bail conditions will remain in place as the case moves through the court system.
The charges against the three suspects mark the beginning of a legal process that will determine whether the prosecution can prove the allegations beyond reasonable doubt. Under Kenyan law, every accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
The case has generated interest among residents and members of the public, particularly because it involves a serving MCA. Public officials are often expected to uphold the law and maintain public trust, making such cases closely watched whenever they arise.
Both the prosecution and the defence will have an opportunity to present their evidence and arguments before the court. Witnesses may also be called to testify regarding the events that took place on the day of the alleged robbery.
The three accused remain out on bond as they await the next stages of the case. The court is expected to provide further directions on hearing dates and other procedural matters as the legal process continues.
The outcome of the case will ultimately depend on the evidence presented before the court and the determination made by the judicial officers handling the matter. If you’d like, I can also create 10 news-style headlines for this article.
