Hon. Agnes Kagure, a well-known Nairobi-based businesswoman and emerging political figure, has made a strong statement this morning on the importance of financial literacy even as she bagged another academic cap joining the list of intellectuals in Kenya and Africa at large.
Through a Facebook post that has quickly gained attention from her supporters and Kenyans at large, Kagure urged Nairobi residents especially the youth, to stay alert and keep up with new financial trends.
Hon. Agnes Kagure, who is well-regarded for her successful business ventures and charitable work via her Agnes Kagure Foundation has stressed the vital role that financial literacy plays in building a secure future. Kagure has also ventured into academic studies with a latest achievement being where she graduated from a business school after undertaking a business related course.
Nevertheless in the post, she encouraged young people to take the initiative to educate themselves on various financial topics, from traditional savings and investments to more modern approaches like cryptocurrencies and entrepreneurship.
“You may not be in a position to save, invest, and build passive income right now, but one day you will be, and the more financially literate you are, the earlier that day will come,” Kagure wrote in her Facebook post on 13 August.
“Prepare your path to better financial times by improving your financial literacy; learn about Capital Markets, Saccos, Cryptos, Entrepreneurship, and everything in between. All the best,” she added, ending with words of encouragement.
All the same, Kagure’s message comes at a time when the economic landscape is changing rapidly. With the rise of digital currencies and alternative investment opportunities, financial literacy has become more important than ever.
Kagure’s call to action serves as a timely reminder for young people to start learning now, so they can be ready for the financial opportunities that will come in the future.
Also without forgetting, Hon. Agnes Kagure appears to be on a mission to reckon ahead of the upcoming 2027 general election with the latter holding empowerement and engagment programs with Nairobians drawn from various parts of Nairobi.
Political pundits on the other hand have been predicting that City Tycoon could end up edging out current Nairobi County leadership that has been characterized with massive looting, corruption among other social vices in City Hall.
