Over 50 contenders have declared their willingness to overthrow President Uhuru Kenyatta and lead the country between 2022 and 2027 as he enters the final phase of his two-five year term. Among the many, political telescopes are focused on two giants, Raila Amollo Odinga and William Samoei Ruto, who have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be the next prospective president.
Because of their great expertise, massive following, financial prowess, and maverick organizational skills, the forenamed duo are titans with indestructible political monuments. Regardless of their size, one of them will undoubtedly take a severe thrashing; who will it be? According to the leader of the Narc-Kenya party, the new inhabitant of the hilltop residence will be named Raila Odinga. Martha Karua warned pro-Ruto crusaders to brace themselves for a Raila presidency during one of her meet-the-people tours in Mt Kenya, claiming that the latter represents the present and future of Kenyan leadership.
Karua was appointed as Raila’s deputy on May 16, and she has been busy campaigning for her boss ever since. Will Martha’s anti-Ruto forecast come true as Election Day approaches? Oh well, Amani’s boss, the Amani National Congress (ANC), has advised her to temper her expectations. The ANC denied assertions recently made by TIFA that the Raila-Karua ticket will most likely form the next government through its official Facebook page.
Mudavadi and his colleagues said in their memorandum of refutal that TIFA statistics are misleading and false, created just to promote a particular narrative, but it won’t stop Kenya Kwanza from becoming the next administration. All if these political threats have raised political tension in the country as ground gets tough.
