Education Cabinet Secretary Mr. Ezekiel Machogu, on Saturday, February 11, revealed the last request that late former CS Prof George Magoha had extended to President William Ruto through him.
CS Machogu explained that the late CS Magoha was keen to have his sister secure a government appointment and had requested him to speak to the president about it.
While addressing mourners in Siaya, Machogu emphatically revealed that President Ruto had agreed to offer Magoha’s sister a job. However, the CS did not reveal more details of the offer. and he also did not tell the name of the sister to Magoha.
“When Magoha was alive, he requested me to ensure the government considers his sister for a position,” Machogu stated.
The late Magoha’s siblings are Mary Magdalene Owuor, Pauline Anyango Dola, and Joseph Magoha.
While defending the move to solicit a job for Magoha’s sister, Machogu revealed that the late Education Cabinet Secretary had picked his son, Paul Machogu Junior, as his aide after he was appointed to head the Ministry of Education by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Professor Magoha walked with that young man for three and a half years. Every place he went to, he was with Machogu junior. As a father, he imparted the necessary Christian values to that young man,” CS Machogu narrated.
The Education CS affirmed that he returned the favor in honor of his friendship with Magoha and further appreciated Maseno University, for offering former CS Magoha a teaching job before he passed on Tuesday, January 24.
