Moses Kuria, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management, has continued his attacks against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as wrangles among leaders from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) escalate.

Speaking on Sunday, June 16, during a fundraiser for St. Luke’s ACK Church in Rwathia ward, Kangema constituency, Murang’a county, CS Kuria questioned whether DP Gachagua could lead the Mt. Kenya region, citing his recent remarks.

The vocal CS further alleged that 90% of both appointed and elected leaders from the larger Mount Kenya region have abandoned the second-in-command.

“DP Rigathi, you have never stepped out of Nyeri save for a few forays into Mt. Kenya East. How can you lead us? Are you not the safest route towards 41 against 1 isolation of our community? Is this the legacy you want to bequeath our Gen Z majority? You have lost the trust and friendship of 90% of elected and appointed leaders in the region. How can you lead them?” Kuria posed.

DP Gachagua has faced resistance and rebellion from a section of Mount Kenya leaders led by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and CS Kuria.

Also, Kuria accused the DP of refusing to drink tea at the State House for fear of being poisoned. This comes as allegations of a disconnect between Gachagua and his boss President William Ruto continue to swirl around.

On this, Kuria asked the DP how he expected other leaders, especially during the Cabinet Committee meetings, to feel safe at his Karen Residence.

The concern was part of 10 questions listed by the CS and directed at the DP. These questions entail scathing allegations which the DP is yet to respond to.

Moses Kuria further hinted that if Gachagua responded to the questions, he would consider joining him as part of his movement.

“Answer these 10 questions Deputy President and if you convince me, I will follow you. We leave government and lead our people to the opposition as you very much desire,” he posed.
