The much-awaited pool showdown is scheduled for Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November and will be held at the Foxy’s Wagon Wheel Hotel, Eldoret.

Celebrated media personality Maina Kageni is expected at the tournament, in addition to acting sensation Inspekta Mwala and seasoned youthful radio hosts and reggae maestros Mbusii and Lion.

To spice up the tournament and motivate the participants, Base Yetu has set aside cash prizes of up to Ksh. 100,000 for different categories of winners, including the best among female participants.

The decision to award female competitors separately was informed by the realization that female participants were unfortunately knocked out in the initial stages of the previous tournament and thus missed out on the cash prizes.

The pool tournament, which is the fourth leg in its latest series, is sponsored by Base Yetu as its launchpad to reach the youth in remote areas and onboard them into its social transformation campaign.

Base Yetu’s campaign is designed to bring together the youth and other members of society into a membership program that accords them with empowerment benefits and the advantage of free networking with other members and corporate partners.

As is illustrated on the Base Yetu website, the organization also has accident and funeral cover benefits for its members, in addition to other benefits like access to credit facilities for business startups and expansion for its members.
