Bondo Member of Parliament Gideon Ochanda has now exposed the happenings that have been taking place around ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Ochanda is among the ODM Luo Nyanza politicians currently having issues with Raila, after their decision to move closer to President William Ruto.
He now says that Raila’s decisions are mostly made by his elder brother Oburu Oginga, whom he (Ochanda) took over from in 2013.
The MP, who is now serving his third term, says that Raila listens to Oburu more than anybody else and it is his decisions that Raila uses, especially in Bondo.
“Bondo is not an ordinary constituency because our party leader listens to his elder brother Oburu more than any other person,” he told the Sunday Standard.
He claims that therefore, it’s very likely that Raila’s current anger towards him is just a projection of what Oburu, the Siaya Senator, has been putting in his mind.
The MP notes that Oburu has a special dislike for him, and it is for this reason that he avoids him and Raila, to avoid issues with the Jaramogi family.
“Many times when I do things, it might appear to be a problem to Oburu and not Raila. That’s why I always choose to keep away in order to avoid a showdown with the ‘palace’,” he adds.
He has as well again defended his closeness with Ruto, maintaining that it is all about development for his people and not a political deal.
This comes at a time when Raila and the Azimio La Umoja leadership have declared war on him and his seven colleagues for undermining him.
The others include Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo, Mark Nyamita of Uriri and Suba South parliamentarian Caroli Omondi.
