City-based lawyer Wahome Thuku has accused Nairobi incumbent senator and Kenya Kwanza Alliance gubernatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja (UDA) for allegedly procuring a forged degree from a Ugandan University for Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) clearance for Nairobi city hall race.
Disappointed lawyer noted Sakaja risks losing various consultancy job opportunities for the fear of employing an academic dwarf who allegedly rides to top positions through backdoor ways that involves forgery of documents including degrees.
“Moving from Ndindi, I must admit I am very disappointed by Johnson Sakaja. I am sure Jeff Koinange is even more disappointed. Not because Sakaja never cleared his studies at the University of Nairobi but because has has forged a degree certificate. Let me say here candidly that him and I know what he did” Wahome Thuku claimed.
“Let’s start from August 11 this year, Sakaja has lost terribly to Polycap Igathe. As if that is not enough, he now has a fake degree certificate. What next? Who will give him a consultancy work. Who will trust him academically anymore? Someone said that education is the best way to build and to ruin yourself. He was right” he added.
Sakaja’s academic credentials secured better part of Tuesday, after he appeared before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) at 9am and was cleared late in the day, raising concerns over the validity of University Degree.
He was cleared to vie for the county’s seat in August 9 contest. Sakaja is set to face off Azimio – One Kenya coalition candidate and former Equity Bank corporate executive Polycap Igathe (Jubilee) and Independent candidate Agnes Kagure.

Sakaja settled on former Absa COO Njoroge Muchiri as his running mate while Igathe picked professor Kaloki to deputize him.
Agnes Kagure on the other hand unveiled the youthful Abel Onchari Oyieyo as her principal assistant in the county race.
