Epic Showdown Set At Supreme Court As Raila Unveils 3 Sets Of Azimio Senior Counsels for Election Petition

The former prime minister Raila Odinga unveiled three (3) sets of senior counsel and legal experts to file petition at the Supreme Court to contest the presidential election seeking to invalidate Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati’s presidential results.

The Azimio – One Kenya presidential aspirant Raila Odinga okayed Senior Counsels led by pheroze Nowrojee, Philip Murgor, Siaya governor elect James Orengo and former Attorney General Amos Wako to lodge an election petition at the apex court tomorrow, before 2pm to challenge Chebukati’s decision to declare United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant William Ruto as president elect in the just concluded general election.

The Azimio – One Kenya senior counsel separate team led by Tom Ojienda, Daniel Maanzo, Otiende Amollo, and Mutula Kilonzo junior are tasked to assemble evidential documents to that reveals the damning IEBC election irregularities and miscalculation of votes that led to the declaration of Ruto as the president elect.

Raila Odinga’s longtime legal expert Paul Mwangi has also invested in doing research and developing various fraudulent election activities that the electoral commission implemented to allegedly deny Raila Odinga victory and accost Ruto.

Ruto also lines up a legal team

However, president elect William Ruto has also prepared a team of senior counsels consisting of former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s legal expert Paul Ngatia, Elias Mutuma, Emanuel Kibet, Adrian Kamotho and Collins Kiprono to defend his (Ruto) victory at the supreme court.

Ruto was declared by Chebukati as president elect after garnering 7, 176,141 votes against his main challenger in the constest, Raila Odinga who got 6,942,930 votes.

Raila opted to exhaust legal and constitutional channels seeking to overturn Ruto’s victory. He argued that that split among the IEBC commissioners depicted the damning boardroom activities that favoured Ruto.

The splinter group of IEBC commissioners led by the commission’s vice chair Mrs Cherera disowned Chebukati’s results, informing about the opaque nature of the electoral processes that wouldn’t guarantee credible election.
