Kenya Kwanza Elections Chief Agent Professor Kithure Kindiki has informed the International Criminal Court (ICC) and Head of the Diplomatic Mission that the government is planning to to overturn the alliance’s victory and block deputy president William Ruto from ascending to power even if he wins Tuesday’s election.

Kindiki argued in a letter that the head of state has turned all the state machineries to work against Ruto and even deploy 30 National Intelligence Service personnel to operate on a schemed mission of blocking Ruto’s victory on the voting date.

The Tharaka Nithi Senator has said that they have with them the information that there is a plan to deploy 30 National Intelligence Service (NIS) personnel to Nairobi and some counties on the Coast, to disrupt elections where the majority of polls have allegedly placed the Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga ahead of DP Ruto support wise.

He insisted that the hustler nation has detailed information that the chiefs and the county commissioners have been tasked with participating in a widespread and systematic voter suppression campaign, a move that they feel needs to be tamed early enough before things go wrong on the August 9th.

“Chiefs and county commissioners are being coerced to participate in a widespread and systematic voter suppression campaign,” Prof Kindiki says in the letter.

“This suppression is not only intended to thwart the will of the people and to deny voters their democratic right. It is intended to raise the political temperature in the country and cause unrest, which might then be used to justify excessive force and other draconian measures,” the Tharaka Nithi Senator added.
