The battle line has been drawing separating the two rivalry factions, Azimio – One Kenya and Kenya Kwanza Alliance, with candidates setting up campaign pace for various elective seats in August contest.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who doubles as Azimio – One Kenya Council Chairman has distanced himself from vouching for Nairobi Azimio – One Kenya candidates, affirming that he will only finance them during campaigns.

According to the former State House Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi, the head of state convened a crisis meeting with Nairobi aspirants shedded under Azimio – One Kenya umbrella and opted to sit at the back seat for their campaigns in forthcoming election.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga met Nairobi Azimio aspirants at a Nairobi hotel” said Itumbi

“In the meeting, President Kenyatta said he would not campaign for anyone and that ” everyone should hit the ground on their own and convince voters” He however pledged to FUND the campaigns. To demonstrate the commitment he gave Shs.10m to the team” added Itumbi.

Immediately after Uhuru and Raila left the hotel, unknown goons are said to have stormed the hotel and walked away with ksh10M that president Uhuru Kenyatta had donated to the aspirants.

“The President and Tinga then left. Minutes later “Goons” invaded the venue and made way with the cash” he stated.

If Itumbi’s allegations is something to go by, then Azimio – One Kenya’s project for Nairobi gubernatorial seat Polycap Igathe would have been dealt a hailstorm blow owing to the fact that he gasps for support in Nairobi county. If Uhuru abandons Igathe, Kenya Kwanza Alliance candidate Johnson Sakaja who has earned tremendous endorsement from all areas within Nairobi will automatically bag victory on 9th August.

Igathe is set to face off Sakaja, Agnes Kagure (Independent) among other fringe candidates.
