Wiper Party leader Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka has thrown his weight behind Public Service Cabinet Secretary JB Muturi’s remarks on the rising cases of abductions in the country.
A day after Muturi openly criticised President William Ruto, questioning the kind of nation he is leading amid rampant kidnappings and killings, Kalonzo has now issued his own statement, demanding action.

Speaking on Saturday, Kalonzo agreed with Muturi’s call for an investigation, stating that Kenya must establish a commission of inquiry into the worrying trend of enforced disappearances.
“I agree with Muturi that this country needs to set up a commission of inquiry into this whole matter of these illegal, illegitimate, and unfortunate abductions,” Kalonzo said.
However, the former vice president insisted that such a commission cannot be a unilateral decision by President Ruto’s government. He argued that for credibility, the opposition must also be involved in the investigative process.

“And it will not be a commission that will be established by William Ruto alone. It must involve the opposition,” he emphasised.
Muturi’s outburst on the abductions had caused a political stir, with the CS openly challenging Ruto to take responsibility for the deteriorating security situation. “What kind of nation are you leading when young men are being abducted, killed left, right, and centre?” Muturi posed in his strongly worded remarks.
Kalonzo’s statement now adds further pressure on the government to respond to the growing concerns about extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, an issue that has sparked widespread public outrage.
As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen how Ruto’s administration will handle the mounting calls for accountability and a thorough investigation into the abductions.
