Senior Economic Advisor to the President, Hon. Moses Kuria, has issued a strong warning, cautioning that President William Ruto could be a one-term president if political leaders fail to unite and deliver on development promises.

Kuria’s remarks come on the heels of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment, a move that saw Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki take over as the country’s new Deputy President.

This significant political shift, Kuria emphasized, should be a wake-up call to the entire administration.

In his statement, Kuria appealed to leaders to set aside political differences and personal ambitions, urging them to focus on serving the people who put them in office.

“Instead of arguing over who has what power or who can accomplish what, we should be fully committed to serving the voters who placed their trust in us,” Kuria stated, highlighting that constant internal conflicts could paint the Ruto administration in a negative light.

He pointed out that with elections approaching in 2027, the public is looking for progress on promised projects and initiatives.

“Our primary role is to deliver, not to engage in endless power struggles,” Kuria continued, adding that any failure to fulfill the administration’s promises could lead to disillusionment among voters.

He warned that unless leaders come together to focus on development, the president’s reputation and legacy could be at risk.

Kuria’s statement reflects growing concerns about the potential impact of political infighting on the country’s economic and social progress.

Many Kenyans are anxiously waiting to see tangible results from the Ruto administration, especially in areas like job creation, infrastructure, and cost-of-living adjustments.

As the senior advisor’s message resonates, the call for unity has grown louder. Kuria’s words serve as a reminder to the administration that it needs to prioritize a cohesive approach to governance.

Only through collective efforts, he argued, can they secure Ruto’s re-election and leave a lasting positive impact on the nation.
