Emmanuel Mukuria Kamau, the son of Susan Wangari from Kasarani, remains missing months after his arrest during the Occupy Parliament protests.

Mukuria was taken into custody on June 25th alongside other demonstrators along Tom Mboya Street, outside Imenti House. However, since that day, he has neither been seen nor heard from, sparking concerns over his whereabouts and safety.

Despite his arrest, Mukuria was not presented in court, nor has he appeared in any police station records. His mother, Susan Wangari, has been searching tirelessly, trying to trace her son without success.

She was told by a fellow protester, who had been detained with Mukuria, that he was initially held in Industrial Area with 205 others.

However, a spot check by Citizen TV at the Industrial Area detention center revealed that Mukuria’s name does not appear among the listed detainees.

This has heightened fears that his disappearance may be tied to unlawful actions by the authorities.

“I have searched through police stations and even morgues, but my son is nowhere to be found.

I just need to know what happened to him,” Susan Wangari said, her voice heavy with emotion.

The Occupy Parliament protests on June 25th were aimed at holding the government accountable for mismanagement and poor leadership. The police responded with force, arresting numerous demonstrators. Human rights groups have condemned the crackdown and called for transparency in how those detained were handled.

Mukuria’s prolonged disappearance raises serious concerns about police operations during protests. His family, along with activists, are demanding that the government provide answers and take responsibility. As each day passes without news, his mother’s hope dwindles, and the calls for justice grow louder.
