Fearless Atwoli Goes After DP. Gachagua As Pres. Ruto Watches in Silence

In what might escalate political tension between Deputy President (DP) Hon. Rigathi Gachagua and Nairobi Governor Hon. Johnson Sakaja, COTU SG Dr. Francis Atwoli has this afternoon sent warning to political leaders who are after the City Boss over alleged Failure to sort out Nairobi mess.

Speaking during an ongoing Labour Day celebrations in Uhuru Gardens in Lang’ata, the outspoken leader started by recognizing DP. Rigathi Gachagua for arriving early to the event, then Nairobi Governor and finally went out to express how much he together with other Nairobians love Sakaja and can’t sit and watch as people bully Sakaja.

In his message, Francis Atwoli dismissed claims that Nairobi is performing badly, adding that Kenyans should feel proud to have someone like Sakaja.

All this time, Pres. William Ruto and his Deputy could be seen following Atwoli speech keenly as silence dominated the event.

Afew days ago, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua explained his interest in Nairobi politics.

Also, Gachagua insisted on safeguarding the city, a top destination for investors in Africa. Citing his various investments within the city, the second-in-command promised to involve President William Ruto to monitor the leadership and development progress in Nairobi.

Further, he added that he also had investments in Nairobi, hence his interest in city politics.

“I constructed my home in Lang’ata in 1993. My businesses are rented apartments, I’m a stakeholder in Nairobi and we want to know what’s happening in Nairobi,” Gachagua revealed.

“I will take a keen interest in the political developments here because it is the capital seat of government and the business centre of East and Central Africa.”

On the other hand,

Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli now says that he is hurt everytime  Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is attacked by critics.

 Atwoli said that he has tried to restrain himself and will continue to do so, but everyone should tell the Governor that his father (Atwoli) is not happy with the attacks on him.

He explained that when Sakaja’s dad retired he left him under his care, which makes him his father.
