The wife of the driver of the ill-fated modern coast bus that crushed at Niithi bridge in Tharaka Niithi county on Sunday evening has finally spoken on the last accounts she had with her husband identified as Mzee Simba.
In a video shared by Nation Media, she says she was in a school meeting before the accident occurred. At that time she doubted them only for her to watch the news on the TV concerning the bus accident.
She later called her husband who spoke with her and sent his child some money. She tried calling him several hours later only to find his phone switched off.
Moments later her close friends started calling her breaking the news of a Modern Coast bus that had been involved in an accident suspected to be driven by her husband.
She claims that the Modern Coast Nairobi transport manager is not picking up the calls of the family leaving them confused about what next step they should take.
However, the family has since been advised to go and view the body and take it close to their home for funeral preparations.
The accident has left close to 33 people dead and several others critically injured.
