Deputy President William Ruto has unveiled seething attacks at Azimio One Kenya gubernatorial candidate in Nairobi county, Polycap Igathe.

Speaking on Monday, 18th July, 2022 during Kenya Kwanza campaign rallies within Nairobi, Ruto hit at Igathe for allegedly not understanding the crucial challenges facing the people of Nairobi especially micro, small and medium business owners.

While lashing at Igathe, Ruto stated that when Igathe removes eyeglasses and English from his wording, then he will remain “useless” to the society.

“Ule jamaaa akitoa miwani na kingereza si atabaki mtu bure kabisa?” Ruto sarcastically dismissed Igathe’s candidature.

He also rallied electorates to vote for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Johnson Sakaja as he argued that the senator understands the problems facing the people of Nairobi.

“I want to urge you people of Kamukunji to vote for Johnson Sakaja for Nairobi Gubernatorial Seat. You listened to his interview with Igathe and you can judge from the interview that he understands the city very well. Unlike the project (Polycap Igathe) that the deep state is trying to impose on you” said Ruto.

“Sakaja was born in Ngara and he has also faced those challenges you are facing right now. He knows how he will deal with traffic snarl in the city, he has solutions to water crisis. Vote for him in August contest” added Ruto.

Sakaja is set to face Igathe of Jubilee, Agnes Kagure (Independent), Kenneth Nyamwamu (UPA) among other candidates.

He also campaigned for UDA senatorial candidate Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, nominated senator Millicent Omanga for Women rep seat, EALA MP Simon Mbugua for Starehe parliamentary seat, Hon Robow for Kamukunji MP seat among a host of legislators within Nairobi.

Ruto’s tour comes a day after Raila’s Azimio – one Kenya brigade traversed the city while drumming support for Raila’s candidature.

Raila wooed voters to adopt Azimio One Kenya coalition manifesto that seeks to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich.
