Mwelekeo Insights has released the final digital results of its Homa Bay County Woman Representative 2027 opinion survey, providing an early picture of how the race is shaping up ahead of the next General Election. The research examined voter preferences across the county and offers valuable insight into the standing of candidates from different political parties. The findings suggest that while the contest remains open, two candidates have emerged as the clear front-runners.
ODM and MDG Lead the Race
According to the survey, Racheal Ogutu of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is currently in the lead with 42.3 percent support. She is closely followed by Merine Anyango Odhiambo of the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG), who has 40.5 percent support.
The narrow gap between the two leading candidates points to what is expected to be one of the most closely watched contests in Homa Bay County. Together, the ODM and MDG candidates command more than 80 percent of the total support, showing that the race is currently centred around the two parties.
The survey indicates that both candidates have built strong political support, making the coming campaign period important as they seek to win over undecided and shifting voters before the 2027 election.
Other Candidates in the Contest
Beyond the two leading candidates, Tabitha Nyandiek received 7.2 percent support, placing her in third position. She is followed by Dr. Joyce “Bensouda” Osogo of ODM, who secured 6.7 percent.
The remaining candidates attracted smaller levels of support. Molline Atieno Ngala recorded 1.5 percent, Mary Ojode received 1 percent, while Lavender Ojalla of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) registered 0.8 percent.
The results suggest that although several candidates are in the race, the battle is currently dominated by ODM and MDG. ODM also stands out by having two candidates among the top four, reflecting the party’s continued influence in Homa Bay politics.
At the same time, MDG’s strong performance shows that it is becoming a serious challenger in the county.
With the election still some time away, campaigns, party strategies, local development issues, and voter engagement could still influence public opinion. As candidates continue meeting residents and presenting their agendas, the percentages may change before Kenyans head to the polls.

The survey highlights a competitive political environment where party popularity and individual appeal are both shaping voter decisions. The close contest between ODM and MDG suggests that every campaign effort will matter as both parties work to strengthen their support.
