There have been lots of speculation regarding the death of former Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo with some reports suggesting that the former Education CS could have been killed by unknown people.
A few weeks after his death, Mutula Kilonzo received a letter from ICC Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo asking him to share with the court any significant information he has on the 2007 Post Election violence that saw thousands killed in different parts of the country.
According to his son, Mutula ate supper at the ranch before he was found dead in his room. He noted that after poisoning him, the killer used a Carbonated Coca-Cola Drink as a catalyst for the reaction in his body.
He also noted that his father never used any carbonated drink in his diet.
Recently, Lawyer Paul Gicheru was found dead in his house in Karen. The death came as a surprise to many Kenyans especially considering he had an ongoing case at the ICC.
The death of Gicheru has been linked to past killings involving ICC witnesses who were killed by unknown people. The likes of Meshack Yebei were found dead in controversial situations.
Former Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo also died in unclear circumstances prompting questions from Kenyans.
Mutula’s son has been recalling how his father was poisoned at his ranch in Makueni. According to Junior his father’s results even shocked the pathologists. He noted that the doctors were shocked with the amount of bleeding in his brain.
Before his death, Mutula had been asked to give testimonials to the ICC Court on the 2007 PEV.
