Lawyer Miguna Miguna has publicly criticized President William Ruto’s administration for a series of decisions he believes are detrimental to the Kenyan people. In a recent statement, Miguna highlighted the ongoing doctors’ strike, the fake fertilizer scandal, the Haiti deployment saga, and the stance on Iran’s attack on Israel as problematic areas.
“I voted for President William Ruto and supported his UDA Party against Azimio in the 2022 general and presidential elections,” Miguna stated. “
However, on the doctors’ strike, the fake fertilizer scandal, the Haitian imbroglio, retrogressive support for Israel, the tribal composition of the KK regime, and other scandals, I, General Miguna Miguna unequivocally say no.”
Miguna’s criticism comes after President Ruto condemned Iran’s decision to launch missiles on Israel, expressing concern for the delicate situation in the Middle East. Miguna believes that Ruto’s stance on the matter is not in the best interest of the Kenyan people.
The country is currently facing a four-week doctors’ strike that has severely affected healthcare services, as well as a controversy over fake fertilizer that has put small farmers at risk of poor harvests. Miguna argues that these issues, among others, demonstrate a lack of accountability, transparency, and commitment to constitutionalism by the Ruto administration.
In his statement, Miguna equated the current regime to that of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, with whom he had a history of disagreements. He emphasized that democracy, accountability, and constitutionalism are non-negotiable principles that the government must uphold.
“Once any regime crosses the RED LINE, patriots and revolutionaries must PROTECT the public interests,” Miguna added.
Meanwhile, the country is embroiled in a four-week doctors strike which has paralysed services across the country leading to a supremacy battle between union heads and police officers.
