Mistakes coming back to haunt KCB CEO Paul Russo?

Paul Russo is facing serious allegations after being accused of orchestrating a violent attack at Pinewood Beach Resort and Spa in Diani, Kwale County, on November 17, 2023. The incident, described as shocking and brutal, left several staff members and tourists injured.

According to the X influencer Jaoko Moses, Alnoor Kanji, the hotel owner, explained how armed individuals allegedly acting on Russo’s instructions stormed the resort, causing chaos, injuring people, and stealing valuables from guests.

Local police intervened, firing shots into the air to disperse the attackers and restore order.

Kanji has suggested that the attack was linked to an ongoing legal dispute between KCB and the resort, with KC Bank boss flexing his financial muscle and close ties to power to act with impunity and seize the hotel.

The bank was seeking to take over the management of Pinewood Beach Resort, but a High Court order currently prevents this action until the case is resolved.

Kanji claimed the bank’s representatives were ignoring the injunction and resorting to violence to seize control.

“It’s unacceptable that a leader of such a prominent institution could be behind such lawlessness,” Kanji said. “We fear these unlawful attempts will continue despite the court’s clear ruling.”

Tourists were not spared during the attack. Deborah Cartwright, a UK nurse practitioner visiting the resort, described the chaos and recounted treating an injured security guard who had suffered a severe head wound.

There have been growing calls for Russo’s arrest, with many questioning how the CEO of a major bank could be linked to such violent acts. However, owing to his close ties to power, Mr. Russo continues to walk free with impunity, a year later.

It is this level of impunity that has irked blogger Moses Jaoko, and he had embarked on a mission to expose the soft underbelly of KCB Bank’s impunity.

CONFIRMED: KCB Bank CEO Paul Russo is alleged to have hired goons that attacked the Pinewood Beach Resort and Spa and badly injured the staff and guests. The bank is fighting to have a takeover of the facility located in Diani, Kwale County. The incident took place on 17th Nov.

Moses Jaokoo posted on X. Last year, Jaoko also accused the bank of engaging in money-laundering and illicit cash activities.
