Today marks as very special day in the Kenyan history and calendar where leaders put aside their difference and meet for national breakfast meeting. This happens to be the last time top leaders are meeting for such a great event.
The prevailing beef between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President, Dr. William Ruto resurfaced on today during the National Prayer Breakfast meeting which is taking place in Nairobi. This came after the two leaders, who previously used to share a common table at such gatherings their previous custom.
Sources have revealed that at the high table, Uhuru and Ruto sat pensively at their respective tables with other guests at the event, which was held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. The worst prevailed when Deputy President William Ruto was summoned to speak addressing the pubic. It has been revealed that he defied tradition by summoning Martha Karua, the presidential running partner of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.
DP caught the attention of many when he invited former Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Martha Karua to speak on behalf of the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Amollo Odinga, who is still missing.
It’s unclear whether the former prime minister, who is still in the nation, has decided to skip the big occasion or is limited to other commitments. Both the Deputy President and Mr Odinga have been invited, and the leaders are expected to attend, it was previously confirmed. More is expected as the meeting continues where political difference appears to have prevailed.
