Charlie Oduwale, the son of Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, has been thrust into the spotlight amid allegations of corruption rocking the county government.

Sources from within Machakos reveal that Oduwale, who holds no official government position, has allegedly taken control of all procurement processes in the county, raising serious concerns about transparency and accountability.

The controversy deepened as ten senior officials, including County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers, resigned within two years of Governor Ndeti’s administration.

The insiders claim these officials were unwilling to participate in alleged corruption schemes spearheaded by the governor, with Oduwale allegedly at the center of the operations.

Among those who have stepped down are Hon. Onesmus Muasya (Youth and Sports), Hon. Philip Kilonzo (Lands), and Hon. Daniel Yumbya (Health). Chief Officers such as Joyce Gituro (Communication) and Miyienda Wycliffe (Health) have also left, citing frustrations over financial demands and lack of ethical governance.

According to insiders, Governor Ndeti allegedly demands kickbacks from senior officials while granting her son full authority over procurement decisions, sidelining official structures.

This has reportedly created a toxic environment, pushing professionals to exit their positions rather than compromise their integrity.

While the governor’s office has yet to respond to these claims, the allegations have sparked public outcry, with residents demanding an investigation into the administration’s dealings. Charlie Oduwale’s perceived influence, despite his unofficial status, has further fueled criticism.

As Machakos County grapples with these challenges, the spotlight remains firmly on Governor Ndeti and her son, with many calling for immediate action to restore trust and integrity in the county’s leadership.
