Nairobi County Women Representative Esther Passaris has declared that Kenyans are praying for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris to win the U.S. presidential election because they believe a Harris presidency would be better for global leadership than a Trump return.
In a statement on November 5, Passaris praised Harris for her vibrant, issue-based campaign as she competes against former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate.
“Our prayers are with Kamala Harris for running one of the most vibrant issue-based campaigns ever. It’s just a matter of hours. Godspeed from the Continent of Africa,” Passaris stated on November 5, 2024, as Americans headed to the polls.
With U.S. citizens casting their votes today, the outcome will not only determine the next president but also influence the composition of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Polls indicate a competitive battle between Harris and Trump, making this election particularly significant. If elected, Harris would become the first woman to hold the presidency in American history.
Harris has campaigned on a platform focused on issues such as the economy, immigration, women’s rights, and democracy, contrasting sharply with Trump’s approach.
She aims to move past what she terms Trump’s divisive rhetoric, positioning herself as a leader for a new generation committed to uplifting the middle class while safeguarding women’s rights.
As the world watches closely, many, including Passaris and countless Kenyans, are rooting for Harris, believing that her victory would bring a more inclusive and progressive vision for the future.
