In an exclusive interview, former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri made serious allegations against Kikuyu MP and National Assembly Majority Leader, Kimani Ichung’wah.

Ngunjiri accused Ichung’wah of hypocrisy for criticising Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over state capture, claiming that he is attempting to manipulate the tea, coffee, and milk markets in the Mt Kenya region without providing any solid evidence.

Ngunjiri voiced his disappointment, saying, “It’s appalling to see Ichung’wah accuse Gachagua of state capture, while his own family holds key positions in the government.”

He went on to reveal that several of Ichung’wah’s relatives are deeply involved in President William Ruto’s administration. His sister is serving as Kenya’s ambassador to South Africa, while his brother-in-law holds the role of Principal Secretary for Roads.

These revelations have stirred debate, with many questioning Ichung’wah’s credibility on issues of state capture and government influence, given his family’s prominent roles in the administration.

The accusations have cast a shadow over his outspoken criticism of government officials, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest within his own circle.

All the same, it is now evident and clear that daggers have been drawn and that the relationship between Pres William Ruto and his Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua could soon travel to the world of no return if nothing is done.

The duo, even though in public appear to enjoy camaraderie has seen their attack dogs from each side continue to thrown bombshells on each other.

In DP. Gachagua’s camp, allies accuse criminal and justice institutions such as DCI of being used to intimidate them for deciding to walk with Gachagua while those in Ruto’s camp claim that DP. Gachagua has gone rogue.
