Reverend Lucy Natasha has once again found herself at the center of online conversations, with social media users reviving old allegations and rumors about her personal life.
As the leader of Empowerment Christian Church, she has built a huge following through her powerful preaching, motivational work, and strong social media presence. Many people, especially the youth, see her as a symbol of faith and encouragement. Yet, her rising influence has also come with criticism and claims that continue to follow her.
The latest chatter points to renewed gossip about her being involved in same-sex relationships, a topic that has been used repeatedly to question her character.
Take, for example, a recent Facebook post that’s been shared around, where someone wrote, “Our good reverend out here giving scissors what belongs to scissors. But ata wewe someone who owns a river and a boat utaacha?”

This kind of statement uses slang and humor to hint at lesbian activity, with “scissors” being a common euphemism for a sexual act between women. The Swahili part roughly translates to asking if someone with wealth and power would ever give it up, implying that the reverend has too much to lose by changing her ways.
Posts like this often spread quickly on social media, sparking debates and sometimes leading to more serious discussions about her character.
Back in 2021, there were several reports and online videos accusing Reverend Natasha of various forms of sexual misconduct. For instance, one Facebook video described her as being caught in a compromising position with her personal assistant, and the narrator mentioned that people had long suspected she was a lesbian.
Around the same time, other allegations surfaced about her church being involved in cult-like activities and promoting inappropriate behavior. She was even accused of arranging a threesome for a visiting Nigerian evangelist, which involved her aide.
These claims made headlines in Kenyan media and spread across social platforms, leading to a lot of public scrutiny.
Reverend Natasha didn’t stay silent on the matter. She quickly issued statements denying all the accusations, saying they were baseless and meant to tarnish her reputation. In one response, she emphasized that her church focuses on empowerment and spiritual growth, not any ungodly practices. She also addressed the claims of sexual impropriety, including those hinting at her orientation, by reaffirming her commitment to her faith and ministry. Her mother even chimed in publicly, offering support and praising her daughter’s resilience during the tough period.
Fast forward to more recent years, and similar whispers have popped up again. In early 2025, a YouTube video titled “The Shady Allegations Around Rev Lucy Natasha” revisited some of these old stories, noting how she had strongly denied them on social media.
Then, in July 2025, content on TikTok discussed her addressing lesbian rumors directly, sharing insights into her personal journey and urging people to focus on facts rather than gossip.
On platforms like X (formerly Twitter), older posts from 2021 still linger, with users making direct claims about her being a lesbian, often in harsh language.
Adding another layer to the story is her marriage. In 2022, Reverend Natasha tied the knot with Prophet Stanley Carmel in a grand ceremony that drew a lot of attention. They’ve since celebrated anniversaries publicly, posting loving messages on Facebook and other sites.
Just this month, in September 2025, her husband addressed cheating rumors about himself after some photos went viral, but he denied them firmly. Their relationship appears strong, with joint ministry work and family moments shared online. This has led some to question the validity of the earlier allegations, suggesting they might have been fueled by jealousy or misinformation in a competitive religious scene.
